"Paintings of images mined from contemporary culture. The pointillist works composed of fragmented forms represent a shift between the whole image and the individual bits of pigment which become abstract when viewed closely. Here, resolution becomes sharp and forms are differentiated when close to the painting, but from farther away the dots blend to create a more blurred resolution. The figures of the lone cowboy and Monica Vitti who is a figure from the Antonioni film Red Desert are characters that inform representations of self and search for self. Monica Vitti ponders the powers of a quail egg, an aphrodisiac that she uses to allow outside forces to influence the self."
